Hello Fraands

Recording & consent

Call se pehle recording aur review ka plan samjhein.

Last updated: {{DATE}}

Preview: this is the planned recording policy. The preview does not place or record calls. Recording, storage, deletion and moderation controls must be implemented and verified before calling launches.

Notice before you talk

Every connected call is planned to be recorded. A spoken recording notice must be given to both the host and caller before their conversation is connected. The host hears a private caller announcement and accepts first; the caller is dialled only after that acceptance. If you do not agree to recording, decline or hang up before the conversation. There is no planned unrecorded-call option.

Acknowledging a notice does not make this a confidential counselling service. Consider what you share, including information about other people. Signup acknowledgement and the call notices are part of the planned consent flow; final wording and legal requirements remain under review.

What the recording is used for

The launch plan sends every recording through automated transcription and post-call safety checks, not just a random sample. Checks may flag abuse, sexual misconduct, contact solicitation, selling or inappropriate advice. Authorised reviewers assess flagged excerpts and clips before confirming strikes. AI does not independently ban accounts.

Women-lane review must recognise ordinary health discussion in context. Mentions of self-harm are for welfare follow-up only, never a strike. Automated checks can miss context or flag something incorrectly; a review is not proof of misconduct.

Live audio monitoring, automated warnings and call cuts are planned for a later phase. Post-call review cannot prevent harm during a call. Either person can hang up; hosts are planned to have keypad end and block controls.

Planned storage and retention

The specification proposes audio retention of 30 days by default, configurable before launch, and call metadata retention of at least 180 days. Metadata includes the call ID, participants, timing, duration, connection status and billing information. These are proposed settings, not verified live deletion guarantees or a statement of the law.

Transcripts, flagged excerpts and review clips are also part of the proposed review process. Their retention and any preservation exceptions must be documented with the final privacy policy before launch. Do not assume all copies disappear when the default audio period ends.

Who processes the audio

The planned telephony, transcription and moderation services will process call audio or transcripts, and authorised staff will review safety flags. The final provider disclosures, staff access controls and handling of lawful requests must be confirmed in the privacy policy. Recordings are not intended to be public or a way for participants to obtain each other's contact details.

Ask about a call record

See Grievance redressal for the published contact route and its current availability. Once calls are live, include the call ID and date in a request. Identity checks, the other person's privacy and applicable restrictions may affect access; a request does not guarantee a recording download. Do not send an Aadhaar number or identity document by email.

Do not make your own recording of the other person. Read the community guidelines.
